Loving Life

A lot has happened in the past month! My little sister Hope, got married. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a great time. As you can see, she was a gorgeous bride! We are happy for her and Mike and can't wait to see what life holds for them!

The Garza family, meaning Benji, me and Simon, actually took a mini family vacation. It was last minute, but we are so glad we went. We went to Timberwolf Lake, a Young Life camp in Lake City, MI. We were spoiled, they cooked, cleaned and housed us in a beautiful lodge with a huge fireplace and a nursery full of toys!! It was much needed since football started up and Benji is super busy again!

Simon and I took a trip up to the U.P to visit friends who were in town from Colorado. He did great on the 8 hour trip, I was very impressed. Carin and Juan were so helpful, I actually got to rest! We miss them very much and can't wait to go visit them in CO!

Simon is walking now, he has been for about 2 weeks. He says, momma, ball, nana and I think he said book today! He tries to do everything we do, like use the remote or carry bags on our shoulder, it is super cute. We have been working in the yard, and tonight he was digging weeds just like me! Everyday I am more and more amazed by him and humbled that I was chosen to be his Mom. Thank you God for this amazing blessing!

Here is Simon on his 10 month birthday. I had to strap him in because he is too wiggly! He loves to smile for the camera as you can see!


Benji can't wait to play basketball with Simon! They have so much fun together and I just love watching them.


Simon has his very own water park! The hose water was really cold so he didn't last long, but it was fun to watch him try to catch the water!

Simon can stand up without holding on to anything, he will be walking before too long. He also learned how to put the ball into the hole to make his toy laugh, that is a huge developmental milestone!! He has a ton of energy and LOVES being outside. If I go to the back door he starts kicking his legs and giggling! He plays in dirt and eats bark on a daily basis, little boys are so much fun! Everyone loves his hair, I am sure as soon as he can talk he will tell people to stop touching it and that it is not beautiful! We can't believe his first birthday is just around the corner!

Simon is 9 months old!! He is so much fun to play with, his laugh is contagious and his smile melts my heart. Benji and I are so thankful for him!

He is climbing everything! He loves to wrestle with pillows and to be tickled. He spends a lot of time opening and closing doors and drawers, which usually ends in pinched fingers! He spent a week on Mackinac Island with his God siblings, Orion and Ariana. He loved every minute of it! He is in swimming 'lessons' and we can't wait to show off our moves in Nana's pool!

I can't believe it has been 8 months already!! Simon's personality is really coming out, he has his favorite toys and games he plays with different people. He loves to crawl out of the living room as fast as possible and beelines it for the bathroom laughing the whole way as you say 'No No Simon' and chase after him! He LOVES the bath. He recently discovered he can carry things in his mouth with his teeth and crawls around with toys, it's pretty cute. He is working on waving, he reaches his arm out toward people, he just hasn't gotten the hand part down. His cousin gave him lion toy that has wheels that he likes to push around, I am amazed at his strength and coordination!! He is sleeping in his own room, in his own bed!! And for long stretches, like 7 hours!! We were only getting 3-4 hour streches up until about a week ago, needless to say, I am SO thankful and hopeful that his sleep keeps getting better. We are still working on naps, I don't always get a break during the day, which is hard, but we will keep trying!

I weigh 19lb 6# and am 26.5" long!!

Simon is 6 months old!! He is busy exploring and playing. He army crawls to get everywhere and into everything. I think it is finally time to baby proff the house! I have been in denial that he can get into trouble.........but he does..........all the time. He is very curious and loves people. He laughs and smiles a lot. Here are some pics of the last few months.

Happy Simon

Simon is 5 months old!! We are having so much fun with him. He is very happy and smiles easily. He LOVES our cat and if I could get her to sit in front of him for an hour or so.......I would be able to get a lot done!!

He rolls from his back to his belly, and occasionaly back to his back. When he is on his belly, he is working really hard to get moving. He can usually scoot a few inches by smashing his face in the floor, pulling up his knees and pushing off!! It's really funny.

He started cereal. He likes it and gets most of it down. For now it is just for fun, he won't really start solids for a few more months. But it gives us something to do!
